Jennifer Medeiros Jennifer is the public relations and media manager for Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, which serves eight counties in the greater Tampa Bay area. In this role, she specializes in developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive PR and media campaigns to enhance the presence of Girl Scouts in the region. Understanding the importance of providing girls with valuable opportunities and experiences from an early age, she founded the council's first-ever MediaGirlz team in 2013. The team consists of a select group of Girl Scouts who are trained to serve as the official girl faces and voices of Girl Scouts of West Central Florida. Jennifer has been a member of the PRSA Tampa Bay chapter since 2011. During that time, she's served as the chapter's treasurer (January 2013-present), assistant treasurer (June 2012-December 2012), webmaster (July 2011-December 2012), LinkedIn and job board manager (July 2011-February 2012), and as a social media assistant for the 2012 PRSA Sunshine District Conference (hosted by the Tampa Bay chapter). As a direct result of her chapter involvement, Jennifer was the recipient of the PRSA Tampa Bay President's Award in 2012 and PRSA Tampa Bay's Sue Ellen Richardson Rookie of the Year Award in 2011.Prior to serving the Tampa Bay chapter, Jennifer was the webmaster and social media chair for the PRSA Gulf Coast chapter and was a member of PRSSA during both her undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida and graduate studies at UNC-Charlotte. In addition to her involvement with PRSA Tampa Bay, she is also an active member of the Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin, an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities. | Jennifer Lane I started my career with PRSA by joining Nebraska at Omaha's PRSSA chapter. There, I served in a leadership introduction as recruitment director. Shortly after, I joined Kansas City's PRSA chapter involved in local events. Looking to move, I got involved with Tampa Bay's PRSA chapter while I was on the job hunt. I was asked if I would be able to write for the chapter's newsletter providing nationally-focused stories. After a couple of months and some rearranging, I was asked if I would step up as the chair of the newsletter committee. Shortly after, I was able to find a job and moved to the Tampa Bay area where I have been involved with local programs, conferences and more. I am interested in helping turn around the chapter's involvement with student writers and more involvement with the membership committee. I also would like to get more involved in PRSA leadership. |
