Crystal L. Lauderdale is a former multimedia journalist turned digital marketing and communications leader. She came to Tampa to work as a photojournalist at the Tampa Tribune in 2004, two weeks before Hurricane Charley made landfall. Since then, she's held management and leadership positions at The New York Times Company's Regional Media Group, Aol, Florida Polytechnic University and now Alvarez & Marsal, a professional services firm serving businesses across industries and around the globe. With a focus on high-quality content and data-driven planning, Crystal has a proven track record of building marketing and communications strategies that produce measurable results, engaging audiences that range from tech-native Gen Z-ers to parents, legislators, business leaders, investors, media and consumers. Crystal holds a BA in journalism from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the University of Florida.

Paula MacDonald, APR is owner/principal of Image Suite PR/HEROIC Integrated Communications, a full-service creative consultancy based in St. Petersburg, Florida, serving clients nationwide in professional services, hospitality, entertainment and technology industries. A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, Paula’s experience in visual communications brings a storytelling perspective to her agency’s clientele.

Paula currently serves on the board of directors for PRSA Tampa Bay, overseeing the accreditation and agency leaders sections. She is also a student mentor in the Pinellas County Take Stock in Children program and board member for the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County.

Katy Parsons, APR

For more than a decade, Katy Parsons, APR has leveraged her integrated communications expertise to create change for a diverse roster of agency clients. As a senior account executive at ChappellRoberts, she currently leads strategic communications efforts and client relations for agency accounts in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Katy’s portfolio of work spans numerous industries from telecommunications and education to nonprofit and manufacturing, including award?winning campaigns for notable brands such as Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, Mosaic, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Verizon Wireless.

Katy holds a BA in mass communications with a minor in English from the University of South Florida, is a graduate of Connect Florida’s Statewide Leadership Institute and currently serves as communications chair on its board of directors. In addition to her active role with PRSA Tampa Bay, Katy serves on the Feeding Tampa Bay development committee and is the secretary on the Ybor City Saturday Market board of directors.

Kirk Hazlett, APR, Fellow PRSA
Associate Professor of Communication (Retired)

Kirk Hazlett, APR, Fellow PRSA, recently retired as Associate Professor of Communication at Curry College where he taught undergraduate PR courses, oversaw the PR concentration, and served as Faculty Adviser for the PR student association for more than 12 years. He also was Visiting Lecturer in the Graduate Communications Program at Regis College.

Before moving into academia, Kirk practiced nonprofit and government public relations and marketing for more than 35 years in the US as well as Asia. During his professional career, he managed communication programs for healthcare and member services organizations as well as the US Army and US Air Force in Vietnam, the Philippines and the United States. He also provided consulting services for both the Manila and the Singapore Red Cross.

Kirk has served as a member of PRSA’s national Board of Directors and has held leadership positions with PRSA’s Educators Academy and Board of Ethics and Professional Standards, as well as PRSA Northeast District and the Boston and Hawaii PRSA chapters. He was inducted into PRSA’s College of Fellows in 2009. He holds a BA from University of Georgia and a BS and MBA from Golden Gate University.
