This week's topic: AP Stylebook Updates for PR Pros to Know

PRSA Tampa Bay member Joseph Priest will provide an overview of this year's most important AP Stylebook updates, which were recently announced in May and June.

Each year, the publication that guides the way that many PR pros write, The Associated Press Stylebook, announces its annual updates at the national conference of ACES: The Society for Editing. PRSA and ACES member Joseph Priest has attended the last four conferences, and in this Chapter Chat he’ll share an overview of the major changes that he’s caught in person. This year the momentous change was the capitalization of “Black,” when used in a racial sense, but in past years the updates have included big changes such as the allowing of the “%” symbol, the use of the singular “they,” and the lowercasing of “internet” and “web.” Join Joseph at this Chapter Chat to get a lowdown of the most important AP Stylebook changes that PR pros need to know to stay up to date in their writing.
