Join keynote speaker Preston Rudie as he covers best practices and pitfalls to avoid when transitioning from journalism to public relations on Friday, October 23 from 11:30am-1:30pm

Preston Rudie will be the master of ceremonies for PRSA Tampa Bay's inaugural PRestige Awards and PRSA volunteer awards. 12:30pm-1:15pm.

Nominees in 16 categories will be awarded a PRestige Award for their noteworthy campaigns and tactics.

About the presenter:
With 23 years in journalism, the former WTSP/10 News CBS and 24-time Emmy award-winning reporter covered a wide range of stories — from breaking news to human-interest pieces. As communication director, Rudie is responsible for Jolly’s public image, serving as a key spokesperson for Pinellas County’s newest congressional representative.

During his tenure in the Tampa market, Rudie was also recognized with six Edward R. Murrow awards for outstanding achievements in electronic journalism and awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and Associated Press.

A  Wisconsin native, Rudie attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, beginning as a radio reporter in Iowa after graduation. He launched his television news career in 1996 at Green Bay NBC affiliate WGBA, later moving to WITI-TV FOX 6 in 1999. Rudie joined WTSP/10 News in 2002.
