Professional Development
Professional development is one of the biggest benefits of your PRSA Tampa Bay membership. From annual APR Accreditation educational sessions to our monthly programs and annual Professional Development Day, there are multiple opportunities for members to improve their skills to help advance their career. Additional, members are encouraged to volunteer or take a leadership role within the chapter. This is an excellent way to expand skills, develop primary relationships and earn accreditation maintenance points.

Where your career in public relations takes you is based on individual drive, determination and diligence. One next step all seasoned practitioners should consider is earning the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation. Earning the APR certification proves you have successfully demonstrated competency in the knowledge, skills and abilities required to practice public relations effectively in today’s business arena. It is suggested that you have a minimum of five years of paid, full-time experience as a public relations professional or as a teacher or administrator of public relations courses in an accredited college or university.

To learn more about the APR process, including application requirements, local study sessions, Readiness Review and competency test information, please visit our Accreditation page.
